This is my first official blog. I decided to call it count every day because in my heart I feel each day brings us such a variety of experiences that can only happen once at any given time, place and circumstance.

Today I am excited because it is the 5th of April. 5 is my number. 5 is what seems to happen to me. I was born on the 5th. My anniversary is on the 5th. Usually every day for some strange reason I happen to look at the clock at exactly 5:55 and so on.. Hence the name of the company FYVE STAR.

Today is special because I have been dealing with skin cancer. It sounds trivial to some but the word cancer is very frightening to me. I have had two surgeries in the last couple of months and they are not terribly painful but you get to a point in your mind where you wonder if it will be the last or is it the beginning of the end?

I am happy to say that TODAY the 5th I got a clean bill of health from my doctors. My scars (2 - 4 1/2 inches each) are healing and my mind is grateful.

The lesson I have learned from all of this is - none of us are exempt from bad news. Listen to the warnings and remember it can happen to anyone and it happened to me. I am just happy that I found it early. Listen to your body, and watch for any strange new things. Don't wait to get it checked.
